Computer Systems, Laptops and Servers
Our Desktop PC Systems are custom built in NZ, which enables us to pick the best hardware and software titles in their class. All our custom built systems come standard with a 2 year RTB limited hardware warranty when purchased as full systems including Base, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse and Speakers.
We advise almost all of our regular customers to purchase systems built using full-version AMD or Intel CPU's and we give them choices not often found with mass-produced pre-built systems.
System Combos
All our system combos are fully customisable and only basic hardware types are provided on this page as indicators of what each system type consists of. Items like dedicated Graphics cards are not included in the systems below, though all systems can be enhanced with a graphics card to increase performance, while still keeping to a price point that suits you.
Need a quality machine for regular office work, choose a Navara, or for more demanding tasks an Athena might be the better choice. If you need a good all-rounder for home use, choose the Aviva, or if you want some serious grunt, go for an Explorer.
- Simple Systems are our basic entry level PC, best suited to light duties or single tasking environments.
- Navara Systems are our best sellers, used by business and home users alike.
- Aviva Systems are our 2nd level business or home system with faster processors than the Navara, plus a larger screen, so they are the better choice for multi taskers and those that like more screen real-estate.
- Advanced Systems have the latest entry level multi-core processors like the Intel i3 or the AMD Phenom II X4 95W CPU, so they are the better choice for power users or businesses with more demanding needs such as entry level design work and regular photo retouching.
- Explorer Systems utilise the higher end of the midrange processors like the Intel i5 and the AMD Phenom II X4 125W Black Edition CPU. These systems will handle almost any job you throw at them and are often chosen as the best base on which to build a very capable gaming machine, or for professional graphics artists.
Quality Control and Brand Name Recognition There are many options available to hardware purchasers today from large OEM providers like Acer, Compaq, Dell and HP, so why do we offer custom builds? The answer is simple. Mass produced box sets may appear to be cheaper at the point of purchase, but they often have lower quality hardware inside the box to meet the lower price point, and many have proprietary hardware types only available from the manufacturer, which can become a real problem if a number of other machines have experienced the same hardware failure.
Custom built systems use industry standard component types, so usually, replacement parts are significantly easier to locate and install, plus we can choose what level of hardware to use with each system. To achieve a 24 month warranty as standard, we need to choose only top quality components from top level hardware manufacturers, and our entry level systems receive the same criteria for hardware selection as do our high end systems.
JDI Simple System
JDI Simple Systems are our entry-level Desktop System, usually built with and Intel Celeron CPU, or an AMD Sempron CPU. Simple Systems are usually best for light duties where speed and multitasking are not the most important elements. Some examples are:
- Public Internet Terminals
- Home File and Print Servers
- Production Control Systems
If you remember hearing television adverts that use the words "powerful celeron", this is the type of machine they are referring to. An Intel Celeron or an AMD Sempron is the exact opposite of powerful, they are the lightest form of Desktop and Laptop system processors, but still very useful because they are cheap.
When we provide Simple Systems, we still choose the highest quality components in the entry level class and provide the same 24 month RTB warranty as our other Desktop Systems
JDI Navara System
JDI Navara Systems are our best sellers, built with Intel or AMD Dual-Core CPU's, best for regular home systems or business workstations. When we provide Navara Systems, we use only full-version CPU's, which are significantly faster than a Celeron or Sempron CPU. In real world usage, a 2.3GHz Celeron or Sempron is typically 3-4 times slower than a full version CPU with the same speed rating during CPU intensive operations.
Having a full version dual core CPU with 4GB RAM means these systems can very successfully perform multi-tasking operations. Some examples of typical uses are:
- Small Office Workstation
- Regular Home PC
- Multi-user System
- Internet and Email
- Skype
- Multimedia playback
- Family Tree
JDI Advanced System
JDI Advanced Systems are built using the latest CPU types available, giving them a nice performance edge over the regular use SOHO systems, plus a few other benefits.
Powered with an Intel® Core™ i3 Processor or an AMD Quad Core Processor, larger Screen, wireless Keyboard and Mouse, plus a bigger power supply and a case designed for quiet operation, the JDI Advanced system is our most refined all-purpose system for the more demanding user.
- JDI Advanced systems are built using the most recent variations of the available component types below.
- GZ-X7 Black ATX Mid Tower Case
- Aywun 500W Power Supply
- 12cm low-rpm case fan for quiet operation
- Intel® Core™ i3 Processor or an AMD 95w Quad Core Processor
- 23" LED widescreen full HD Monitor
- Logitech MK250 Wireless Keyboard/Mouse
- Logitech LS21 2.1 Speakers with Sub-Woofer
JDI Explorer System
JDI Explorer systems improve on the Advanced systems by using higher spec'd Motherboards, Intel® Core™ i5 Processor with TurboCache or an AMD 125w Quad Core Processor and larger hard disk drives.
The higher spec'd motherboards generally come with improved on-board graphics, higher system bus speed capabilities, higher memory clock capabilities, higher quality integrated audio and USB 3.0 ports.
When combining these benefits with the faster CPU's, these systems make fantastic bases for graphics professionals, multi-media processing or for the trigger happy gamer. The Logitech Z313 2.1 Speaker System (25W RMS) has enough grunt to fill a regular lounge room quite nicely.
